WordPress releases iPhone application

July 24, 2008 – 7:49 am by Nick Bodmer

WordPress, the free software that powers this blog (and many others), has released a free iPhone application that allows for mobile blog posting. WordPress could not have made it easier to make quick updates on the go, however this comes at a cost of losing some of the more advanced features when creating a post.

You can create new posts, edit existing posts, and upload images all from the iPhone. However, don’t expect (at least very easily) to create links, edit image placement, or do anything fancy with layout.

This will be a great tool for the iPhone-touting bloggers of the world, as you can literally witness an event, snap a picture with the phone, and have a blog post up in a matter of seconds. Instant reporting to the max.
